Had a very delicious dinner at Dragon-i, Pavilion :3

Had this in Mid Valley Gardens. Price is high but the food is just average. Not many choices to choose from. When the waiter comes over to our table and asked if we want to add on any more dim sums, I requested for Lao Sa Pau, Lai Yao Pau and Siew Loong Pau. Then the waitress stared at me blankly, and said 'Sorry, we don't have those.'
Now it's my turn to stare at her blankly. "Just siu maai and ha gaau then?"

Had Dim Sum for breakfast one Saturday morning at Hong Kee Restaurant located at Damansara Jaya near Atria Mall. Packed with people as usual but this restaurant runs in a very systematic & organize way so it wasn't much a hassle. I'll give both thumbs and toes up for food and services :)

Had steamboat for dinner the other day :)

Went to Lai Po Heen in Mandarin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in the occasion of my brother's birthday. Classic Cantonese cuisine with seafood and dim sum specialties. Lai Po Heen’s elegant decor is based on the grand ancestral homes of Chinese tycoons from the turn of the century.

This is an appetizer, and if I'm not mistaken, it tasted like a sushi roll, lol.

Shark fin soup. I guess it's the best shark fin soup I've ever had :)

What took me by surprise is this surprisingly expensive normal fried chicken. Doesn't even beat Kentucky's fried chicken half dead.

Picture
Starting from now, the dish served are 50% faster. Meaning, before we even get to enjoy the meal, next dish is served. With speed and non-precise.

Came a few seconds later after the fried chicken is the steamed fish. How do they expect us to enjoy the hot fried chicken OR the hot steamed fish before finishing the other dish? I decided to finish the chicken first, and sacrificed my hot fish.

The now, 'cold' fish, is served with rice vermicelli (i think) and see those crushed brown nuts or so on top of the fish? Again, I'd prefer to have the fish without it. It's too hard to be chewed on. Doesn't add to the fish flavor, instead, it destroyed the fish's flavor.

Prawn dish. This tasted quite good too. Not too sweet and love the sauce :)

Picture
Chinese mixed green vegetables. Tasted quite good but no added twist to it.

Noodles, anyone? This one here is quite a large portion. Couldn't finish it all.

As dessert lover, I was hugely disappointed with their last dish for dessert. Couldn't believe that they would serve this kind of dish for dessert in their luxury restaurant.

What's on the big plate is the some mixed pieces of fruits, and green tea pudding. It's like a child's play. The green tea pudding tasted quite okay but with such a lousy presentation, it just destroyed the whole mood. Definitely, not a dish i would hope for when i dine in any other restaurants.

Comment:-
I've never tried their dim sum before. It could have been better if we did have for it for dinner compared to these packaged course dinner meal. The food served is extremely disappointing. Not up to my expectation. Besides the shark fin soup, nothing's really outstanding that night! Service, well, there weren't many people dining there that night, so they're basically standing around the room, waiting to be called for duty. So, i guess i could add some score to this part. Oh, the beverage score was quite high because the Chinese tea tasted quite good (=/). The place was fabulous. Nicely decored and classic. The price? Consider itself lucky for i have restrained myself from scoring them 1.0/10 because of the shark fin soup. Nothing more. After looking at all these photos, what do you think this package of meal course costs? around RM500+? It costs RM1000+, mind you. And to be served with these kinds of dishes are absolute fool. Come on, I could get a lot more delicious & better dinner less than that amount! I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. Not for the meal course, definitely. The meal course may be bad, but I'm not quite sure about their dim sum. But i guess it could be any better. Not a place to be back again.
